Create a Success Plan

Imagine you are about to head out on a road trip to a place you have never been before without directions. If you have time to waist and are just looking to do something really out of the ordinary by blindly seeking your destination you may take this approach. 99.9% of the time however, I think it is safe to assume you would want directions. Additionally, in a best case scenario, you probably don’t want general directions; but rather, you’d prefer to have the most precise directions possible to get where you want to go. Naturally, this would significantly increase your chances of not only arriving at your destination; but also doing it in the most time efficient way possible.

Wouldn’t it make sense for you to take the same approach to life? We all have goals and a life we would love to live; yet, we are going on that journey without directions. The lack of a plan really complicates things and jeopardizes our chances of success. In contrast, the creation of a detailed, step by step plan that details the actions needed to arrive at our desired destination will take a significant amount of guess work, ambiguity and chance for failure out of your journey. Additionally, having a precise plan will decrease the amount of time we spend reaching our goal. Rather than having to continually figure out our next step, by strategizing before action is taken, we don’t have to spend time figuring out what is next. The course has already been charted.

Regardless of whether you decide to take the step of seeking and hiring a coach however, do keep the creation of a success plan in mind in your approach to life goals. You will find yourself cruising on the main roads more of the time rather than being lost in the woods.
